Death Of A Child

The battered body of the four-year-old
little boy or girl---
hard to tell---

killed by the Israeli five-hundred pound bomb
dropped from the air
by a pilot

jubilant over the perfection of his instruments,
proud of the technology of his country,
convinced this killing is for the betterment of his kind.

The dead child does not argue,
it just lies there dead,
unable to prove its innocence to America or Israel.
