I was just reading about Hart Crane. I didn't know he disappeared in the Gulf of Mexico on his way to New Orleans...
...and I of course understand now the last poem...
Crane certainly is an unappreciated poet.I first read him in 1960,couldn't understand a word,but I loved his work.Now I understand it a little more,but we forget that his poetry must have startled and intrigued back in the 1920s and 30s.
