The Ink Wears Off

The ink wears off inside of you
obscuring words I wanted no one to see
only the spare change left
which beggars chant
only a swear word or two
which slip out onto your belly
before you give birth to language.

And I would have to explain
how all this came about
the disappearing ink forgives misspellings
the misuse of love and alphabet.
A poet should know better.
