Henry And The Sea Creature

Henry was on the front end of the boat,
the giant squid
was on the other end,

one tentacle on Henry’s right knee,
one around his left ankle.
The squid’s startled eyes

look skyward towards some giant God
which squirted backward in heaven
longing for the sea below.

Henry having had enough
pulled out his pistol
and shot the sea creature almost dead.

The creature opens its parrot beak,
pauses, its dish-plate eyes getting bigger
and then says, “Polly wanna Kraken?”
