Rooster Fight

I went to a Mexican dance
and a rooster fight broke out.

The vato with the Black Parrot hair
threw the first kick.

The short pendejo
ducked to half his size.

In the end,
they both ended up jodidos.

I hung out with the chickens
counting my huevos.

Anti-Red Wheelbarrow

so much depends
upon

the sun-baked Mexicans
building pyramids

I mean
building more lanes

and ramps
on the Interstate

for people
like Ann Coulter

A Hot Wind Blows

A hot wind blows
across el ocho's forehead

as his baby doll departs
and the emptiness of dry leaves

fills his heart
a smoky train

rattles thru his brain
like sugar cane

dusty gravel roads
dare his soul to surface

he loves his baby doll
too much

and like a garden rake
he makes piles of her

and dives into her
old with desire

He Carried Her Feet In His Feet

by  f. e. e. t. cummings

El ocho patas
carried her feet in his feet

his feet smelled
and hers were so sweet

it was love
at first meet

they were love birds
tweet tweet

and everywhere
el ocho patas went

her two little feet
ran across the street

and if el ocho patas fell
well hell

she fell too
black and blue they got up

when they were done
making love

he carried her feet
in his feet
