Earth Bound

(yeah, baby,  I'm grabbing my crotch
              like a rap guy.)

Mother died giving birth
father drank water

rattled in the car
the steering wheel

was a cloud in his dark hands
far away

the wind tousled my hair
my heart was a pale blinding white

the beast of it all stumbled
across the country road

its head so flat
I cried against it

its paws so sharp
I lay against them

its eyes so bloody
I opened my mouth

mother died giving birth
and to this day

I swallow
everything she left behind

the earth
stuck in my throat like dirt

Eve Of Destruction

Try as I might
I can not stop the destruction

I pull her panties off
she tastes like bread

my brain sits on the table
the sun is stuck in the kitchen window

the coin of her eyes so wide
I think I've swallowed her whole

she's frightened
and round as a ball

the hair on my head
cold against her belly

I hear her gasp like Christ
when the first nail is driven
