Headroom

for L.

At this age
to still suffer
from teenage lightning

I superglue
a wing to my back
a second time

my lips
upon the dirty river

eyeballs
hard as steel
against your young thighs

I am a cardboard sigh

I am paint color
with no name

at my age
to still suffer
purple haze

dickhead red
like the planet Mars

my life
surpassing insect life
